A hallmark of a UB Law education is our robust Legal Analysis, Writing and Research (LAWR) Program. Students complete three semesters of intensive research and writing, including two in the first year, ensuring sustained, meaningful development of the skills that are critical to practice.
Developed in consultation with education experts, judges, judicial clerks, and practicing attorneys, the LAWR curriculum is grounded in proven methodologies that prepare students to “hit the ground running” in their first legal roles. It is a defining strength of our JD program and a key reason our graduates stand out to employers.
