A Baldy Center conference inspired by Eyal Press' book Absolute Convictions: My Father, A City, and the Conflict that Divided America, which explores the abortion culture wars as played out in Buffalo, NY and the impact on the life of his father, an abortion provider, and his family. The conference will open with an address by Eyal Press, followed by sessions with invited experts from the UB faculty and other universities, discussing the legal, medical, economic, and religious issues raised by the abortion controversy.
