Children, Families and the Law
The Baldy program on Children, Families
and the Law is a community
of colleagues interested in the relationship between children,
families and the legal institutions with which they interact. The
Program has a long and fruitful relationship with professional
members of the community engaged with children and families, and
the Program provides useful opportunities for interaction and feedback
on research.
Recently, Program participants have conducted evaluations of
domestic violence courts, research in delinquency and youth courts,
and coordination with scholars from throughout the University to
host the Urban Girls Conference. The Program draws from participants
in law, psychology, sociology, social work and other areas examining
the relationship between the "private family" and the "public
law."
