SHOULDNT YOU BE A MEMBER?
In an effort to expand the important activities of the UB Law School
Alumni Association, we have made some recent changes in membership that we
hope will inspire every UB law alumnus/a to, renew their membership or join
our ranks.
More than ever before, there are
important reasons for you to join the UB Law School Alumni:
FIRST, membership is a great way to show your pride in the law
school and to support its work.
SECOND, membership provides continued networking opportunities
with other UB Law alumni and faculty at law alumni events, dinners and
programs, including the Law Alumni Convocation and Jaeckle Award Luncheon,
the New York City Law Alumni Lunch, the Distinguished Alumni Dinner, and
various Rochester events.
THIRD, membership allows you to participate in the high quality
CLE programs sponsored by the UB Law Alumni Association -- including the four
1-credit hour CLE seminars, which are part of the GOLD Groups UB Law
Downtown series, and our new regional CLE seminars in Rochester and Niagara
County.
FOURTH, membership is an opportunity for you to become involved
in the UB Law Alumni Oral History Project to help preserve the history of the
law school and its graduates through recorded interviews with distinguished
legal practitioners, judges, law professors and deans.
FIFTH, membership makes it possible for you to take advantage of
discounts at the law school bookstore, borrowing privileges from the law
library and career assistance from the Career Assistance Office, as well as
numerous other benefits.
You are critical to the success of our membership
drive. We have set a goal of increasing membership to 15 percent of law
school graduates (currently it is at 14 percent) by the date of our annual UB
Law Alumni Dinner on April 30, 2003. That would bring us to a total of
1,269 members. We are confident that we can meet that goal. We are also
offering discounts at law school alumni events and CLE programs to UB Law School
Alumni Association members. What you save in discounts throughout
the year will pay for all or most of your UB Law Alumni dues!
Please help us reach our goal of 15 percent membership. If
you have never been a member of the UB Law School Alumni in the past, please
join now. If you are an existing member, please renew your membership. If you
are a member of the Gold Group, you are our hope for the future. Continue to
help us grow as an alumni association and provide meaningful connections
between the law school and its recent graduates.
If you are practicing in one of our growing
membership chapters in Rochester and Niagara County, please join or renew
your membership -- and get involved. One of the most positive
developments in recent years has been the growth of UB Law Alumni Chapters in
Rochester and Niagara County. We would like to continue to develop chapters
in other geographic areas where there are concentrations of UB Law graduates.
We need you to help our continued growth as an alumni
association. Please join or renew your 2003 membership today!
