Conference: Culture and Control of Women – Resources and Remedies
This conference will examine the injustices and violence perpetrated on women globally and explore resources and remedies to answer the question - What is to be done?  These illegal human rights violations include, honor killings, human trafficking, child and slave brides, domestic violence, access to education, discrimination, child custody, unjust social and cultural restraints, unjust family law, to name a few. The conference is presented by the Coalition for the Advancement of Moslem Women in conjunction with SUNY Buffalo Law School, the Institute for Research & Education on Women and Gender, Buffalo Public Schools, and others.

OUTLaw Dinner
This year, OUTLaw will honor Reverend Gerard Williams, founding pastor of Unity Fellowship of Christ Church in Buffalo, New York. Serving a predominantly LGBTQ congregation, Reverend Williams a proponent of liberation theology, progressive initiatives, and community education. Keynote speaker for the evening will be Amy Schwartz ’99, a senior staff attorney with the Domestic Violence Unit at the Empire Justice Center’s Rochester, New York Office.

First-Year Oral Arguments
SUNY Buffalo Law School's Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research seek judges who will participate in First-Year Oral Arguments. The students will be arguing their summary judgment motions, the culmination of the first-year curriculum in LAWR. Some issues being argued are: a high school student’s First Amendment rights, revocation of naturalized U.S. citizenship, and fair use and the parody defense.

The 2015 Mitchell Lecture, “Who Rules Big Data? Law, Knowledge, and Power”
The 2015 Mitchell Lecture, “Who Rules Big Data? Law, Knowledge, and Power,” will feature three leading scholars on public policy questions that involve the new information technologies.

Join us at this annual dinner as we celebrate the achievements of the graduating 3Ls who are part of the Black, Latin American and Asian-Pacific American law students associations as well as several of our alums and those that contribute to our organizations at the law school. Keynote speaker will be Michael Battle ’81, partner at Schlam Stone & Dolan LLP and former United States Attorney for the Western District of New York . This year's honorees will be: Jason Almonte ’07 (Trailblazer Award); Susan Soong ‘94 and Hon. Hugh Scott ‘74 (Distinguish Alumni Award Recipients); and Prof. Rick Su (Professor of the Year).
