Robert D. Lipman ’86 Memorial Fund

Bob was a proud native Buffalonian.  He graduated from Williamsville South High School in 1979, the NYS School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University in 1983 and the University at Buffalo School of Law in 1986.  Bob dedicated his legal career to the practice of employment law.  He founded Lipman & Plesur, LLP representing both employees and employers on employment related matters and he lectured extensively.  In recent years he also co-founded Docuvisory, a blockchain fueled human resources platform.

Bob’s skill and creativity as an attorney earned many accolades, most recently in early 2020 he received Best Lawyer’s regional “Lawyer of the Year” award for Litigation – Labor and Employment.  Although he is remembered by many for his skill as an attorney, his defining characteristics were his amazing zest for life and his enjoyment in connecting with and helping others.  He valued his time at the School of Law tremendously, both for the education and experience he received and for the people he met while there.

Contributions are being collected to establish a memorial fund in honor of Bob that will help support a student focusing on employment law.
