Terrence M. Connors ’71 received the 2015 Charles F. Crimi Memorial Award from the Criminal Justice Section of the New York State Bar Association. Connors, a partner with Connors & Vilardo in Buffalo, is a past member of the Dean's Advisory Council and a recipient of the Law Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. He lives in Buffalo.

Carl C. Radom ’73 co-authored the lead article in the January 2015 edition of The Journal of Taxation. He is a member of the Overland Park, Kan., firm Ferree Bunn Rundberg Radom & Ridgway. Radom practices estate planning, probate and trust administration, asset protection, business organization, succession planning and planned charitable giving. He lives in Lenexa, Kan.

Richard M. Tobe ’74 has been appointed upstate economic development coordinator by New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo. Tobe previously served as deputy Erie County executive in Buffalo.

Pamela Davis Heilman ’75 received the Edwin F. Jaeckle Award, the highest honor SUNY Buffalo Law School and its Law Alumni Association can bestow. She is of counsel with Hodgson Russ in the Buffalo office. Heilman is a member of the Law School’s Dean’s Advisory Council.

Gary J. Muldoon ’76, a partner with Muldoon & Getz in Rochester, N.Y., has written a new ABA book, The Education of a Lawyer. His book was mentioned in the law blog Above the Law. Muldoon practices criminal and civil appeals as well as criminal law, family law and professional liability. He is an adjunct faculty member at SUNY Buffalo Law School. Muldoon lives in Fairport, N.Y.

Karen O’Connor ’77 has been named one of the top 100 Irish Lawyers in America by the Irish Legal 100. O'Connor is a Jonathan N. Helfat Distinguished Professor of Political Science, and founder and director emerita of the Women & Politics Institute in the School of Public Affairs, at American University in Washington, D.C., where she resides.

Maurice F. Baggiano ’78 submitted an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of King v. Burwell, the Obamacare tax-subsidy case. Baggiano practices in Jamestown, N.Y., where he resides.

Carol G. Snider ’83 served on a “state of the market” panel at the American Conference Institute’s National Advance Forum on Asbestos Claims & Litigation, in Philadelphia. Snider is a partner with Damon Morey in the Buffalo office.  She handles cases involving asbestos exposure, environmental litigation, general negligence, products liability and toxic torts. Snider is a Buffalo resident.

Hon. Gerald J. Whalen ’83 administered the oath of office to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on New Year’s Day at the Buffalo Historical Society. Whalen is a New York State Supreme Court justice, Appellate Division, 4th Department, in Buffalo. He is a resident of Hamburg, N.Y.

Hon. Eugene M. Fahey ’84 was nominated by New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals. Fahey is a New York State Supreme Court justice, Appellate Division, 4th Department, in Buffalo, where he resides. He is a past recipient of the Law Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumnus Award for the judiciary.

Hon. James L. Monroe ’91 was elected town justice of Canton, N.Y., where he resides. Monroe previously served as an assistant district attorney with the St. Lawrence County district attorney’s office in Canton.

Michael T. Feeley ’92 of Amherst, N.Y., has become a partner with Smith Sovik Kendrick & Sugnet in Buffalo. He is a trial attorney and appellate advocate. Feeley was previously a partner with Rupp Baase Pfalzgraf Cunningham & Coppola in Buffalo. He is a member of the SUNY Buffalo Law Alumni Association board of directors.

Paul E. Berndt ’94 has become of counsel with Bond Schoeneck & King in the Rochester, N.Y., office. Berndt handles cases involving commercial lending, real estate development and construction. He lives in Penfield, N.Y.

Heath J. Szymczak ’98 presented on trade secret protection and its impact on chemical and plastics manufacturing at the New York State Chemistry Council Annual Policy Meeting, Jan. 27 in Albany, N.Y. Simon A. Fleischmann ’01 was quoted in an article in National Mortgage News,
"Legal Battles Only Beginning After Key Rescission Ruling." Fleischmann, a partner in the Chicago office of the international law firm Locke Lord, maintains a national litigation practice and focuses on class-action defense in the retail and consumer finance industries. He resides in Chicago.

Amy C. O’Hara ’02 has been promoted to partner with Littman Krooks in the White Plains, N.Y., office. O’Hara concentrates her practice on special needs planning, trusts and estates, personal injury settlement consulting and elder law. She lives in Larchmont, N.Y.
