A virtual series, the UB Law Alumni Association’s GOLD Group hosts Mid-Morning Coffee Chats providing law students with an opportunity to network with a panel of alumni leaders in their fields.
Alumni talk about various career paths and reveal tips for being successful in practice post-law school, as well as answer questions law students have regarding their interest in the field.
All Coffee Chats are conducted via Zoom and are free and open to all current law students.

At this first Coffee Chat for the 2021-22 academic year, law students will have exclusive access to four successful alumni-leaders who will give law students tips on how to be successful in the field of LITIGATION.
In a roundtable discussion, they will talk about various career paths and reveal tips for being successful in practice post-law school, as well as answer any questions you may have regarding your interest in the field. All four have a multitude of contacts in numerous practice areas. They will review with you the wealth of options out there in the field of litigation – some of which you may not have even thought about pursuing.
Our alumni panelists are:
Marc A. Schulz ’11, Partner, Hurwitz & Fine, PC and former member of the UB Law Alumni Association GOLD Group. He will discuss his work as a litigation attorney, with a focus on the defense of labor law claims, SUM claims, as well as other insurance defense matters.
Henry A. Zomerfeld ‘14, Senior Associate, Hodgson Russ LLP and current member of the UB Law Alumni Association GOLD Group. He will talk about his work in representing businesses and municipalities, as well as handling a variety of commercial and contract-based litigation matters.
Sarah E. Schulz ‘14, Associate, Bennett Schechter Arcuri & Will, LLP, and current member of the UB Law Alumni Association GOLD Group. She will discuss her work as a current insurance defense litigation attorney, as well as her prior work as a Plaintiff’s attorney specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice.
Caitlin O’Neil ’15, Associate, Connors, LLP, and current member of the UB Law Alumni Association GOLD Group. She will discuss her work in representing personal injury matters and the defense of licensed professionals.
