First-Year Mentoring Program

The School of Law takes pride in its collegial atmosphere. The Latin American Law Students Association (LALSA) furthers this ideal through a hands-on mentoring program designed to encourage Latino upperclassmen to build close relationships with Latino first-year students from the beginning of classes and beyond.

First-year mentees are matched with upperclassmen based on a number of expressed interests. Once matched, the mentors maintain a relationship with their first-year mentees throughout their first year. Mentors are available to answer questions or concerns about being prepared for classes, studying for exams, or deciding what classes to take each semester.

The success of our mentoring program relies on the pay-it-forward mentality. Every strong mentorship match leads to a new mentorship match the following year!
