Maite D. Oronoz-Rodríguez, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, will be the keynote speaker as the University at Buffalo School of Law conducts its 130th Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 19, 2019.
With a note of encouragement and thanks from New York States’ second-in-command, a third group of UB School of Law students headed to Puerto Rico to provide legal assistance to those whose lives were upended by Hurricane Maria.
Summer experience in a law-related position is critical to launching a law student’s legal career. That first summer job is often a future attorney’s entry into the professional legal community where they can build their skills and their network, putting them in a strong position when they interview in their second and third years.
Every practicing attorney knows the challenge of sitting for the bar exam. It’s a challenge that the School of Law takes seriously as well. Giving our students the tools and strategies to pass the exam and launch their legal careers is a vital part of our mission – and part of the school’s commitment to our students.
