About the BPILP Auction

A springtime signature event, the Buffalo Public Interest Law Program's annual Auction gives attendees an opportunity to win prizes, network with law alumni and students, and have a lot of fun.

Proceeds provide fellowship funding for law students working in public interest summer internships.

There are three main components to the Auction: a Live Auction, an Online Auction, and a Raffle Auction. All tangible items will be available for pick up at the event. Winners of intangible items, tickets, or experiences will receive these items or be connected accordingly following the Auction. Please visit the BPILP Auction page for further details.

Donors will be recognized at the event.

Supporting BPILP through the Auction

This year, BPILP is offering friends and community members multiple ways to support our Auction and our students pursuing public interest careers.

Attending the Auction

We hope you can join us in person at our Auction!  Tickets will be on sale beginning Monday, January 8th. The link to the ticket sale will be accessible through this webpage.  Even if you can’t make it, many of the items will be available to view and bid online during the week of the Auction.

We are always grateful to have our fellow students and friends join us at the Auction; however, we realize it is a financial burden for some. This year, we are offering community members an option to purchase an extra student ticket, that will be distributed to a student who may not be able to afford their own. The option to add an “extra” ticket for a student in need will be available as an add-on as you purchase your ticket and will be distributed to students in the lead-up to the Auction.

Students – if you would like to attend the Auction, but cannot afford a ticket, please e-mail law-bpilp@buffalo.edu to get put onto a waiting list for any “extra” tickets received.

Monetary Donations

As always, we are grateful for monetary donations both before and after the Auction. If you should wish to donate, please click the green “Make a Gift” button above.

In-Kind Donations – Auction Items

We are always looking to collect in-kind donations that can be auctioned off to help us raise money. If you are interested in donating an in-kind item for the auction, please e-mail law-bpilp@buffalo.edu.

Sponsorships

We are also offering opportunities for individuals, families, and businesses to become “sponsors” of the Auction. All sponsorship tiers include recognition in the lead-up to and at the Auction and a set of tickets (amounts vary based on tier). In addition, a limited number of Platinum sponsors will also receive the opportunity to get a named cocktail at the bar throughout the evening.

Advocate – $100 1 ticket ($70 value) | Bronze – $250 2 tickets ($140 value) | Silver – $500 4 tickets ($280 value) | Gold – $750 8 tickets ($560 value) | Platinum** – $1000 10 tickets ($700 value)

**Drink naming opportunity for first two sponsors at this level.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please click the blue “Become an Auction Sponsor” button above and complete the online form.  After submitting the sponsorship request form, kindly mail your check to Buffalo Public Interest Law Program, c/o Michael Hilburger, 426 O’Brian Hall, Buffalo, NY 14260-1100. Checks can be made payable to “UB School of Law.”

Sponsorship requests close on Friday, February 2nd.

Looking for some other way to get the word out about your organization or business as a sponsor? We’re all ears! Get in touch with us: law-bpilp@buffalo.edu. We’d be happy to work with you.
