Templates

Find the templates and resources you need to produce consistent and effective communications.

  • Select the appropriate template: Since some UB presentation spaces re optimized for one format over the other (Standard vs. Wide), it is recommended to confirm the best format for the presentation in that room prior to your event. For instance, the CFA Mainstage Theater is optimized for wide screen display of presentations.
  • Note: Though PowerPoint includes a toggle feature to switch between wide and standard format, using this feature can distort UB presentation templates and some presentation design components.
  • Font selection: In some cases, UB’s brand fonts—Sofia Pro, More Pro and Freeland—may not be available on all machines. This can cause formatting and lay out problems at the time of presentation. Arial is often considered a “safe” font to use if a presentation is delivered on different devices, as it is widely available on devices and a good alternative to Sofia Pro.
  •  Font size: Font size- Know your presentation space and use a font size that would remain legible even to those seated furthest away. In large spaces, use font sizes of 20+ to ensure legibility for all audience members (CFA mainstage theater, Alumni Arena, etc.).
  • Font color and contrast- For accessibility purposes, it is important to note that not all font and background color combinations made available in the UB brand color palette are considered accessible.
  • Additional information on how to make sure font and background color contrast is accessible can be found here.
  •  Images and Video
  •  Images and video should be clear.
  • Do not skew (squash or stretch) images when resizing. Tip: Use the Microsoft Photos desktop app to modify a picture’s aspect ratio (Standard = 4:3 and Wide = 16:9) or Hold the Shift key down while dragging the anchor point on an image when resizing.
