Christine Smith Howard ’93 will receive the UB Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumna Award for business on May 7 in Buffalo. She is managing director and senior counsel with Société Générale in New York City.
Jonathan S. Beane ’98 will receive a SUNY honorary doctorate degree at the law school’s commencement on May 17. Beane, senior vice president for league leadership and inclusion with the National Football League, is a past recipient of the UB Law Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumnus Award for business, and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council.
Andrew M. Wilson ’98 has become a member of the School of Law’s Dean’s Advisory Council. He is a partner with Lippes Mathias LLP in Buffalo.
Michael P. Leone ’00 has become a member of the board of trustees of the Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts in Rochester, N.Y. He is senior counsel with Ferrara Fiorenza P.C. in East Syracuse, N.Y., representing school districts in education, labor and employment law.
Tracey B. Scarpello ’04 has joined The Glennon Law Firm P.C. in Rochester, N.Y., as counsel, focusing on complex tort and commercial disputes. She previously served as counsel with Nixon Peabody LLP in Buffalo.
Elizabeth Fox-Solomon ’06 will receive the UB Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumna Award for public service on May 7 in Buffalo. She is interim director and general counsel with the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights in Washington, D.C.
Hon. Gary A. Wilson Jr. ’08 will receive the UB Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumnus Award for community service on May 7 in Buffalo. A Buffalo City Court judge, Wilson was previously honored at the School of Law's annual OUTLaw dinner where he was recognized for his service and activism on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community.
Nathan W.G. Berti ’10 was appointed managing partner with Hodgson Russ LLP. He concentrates his practice in trusts and estates in the Buffalo, New York City and Hackensack, N.J., offices.
Sean C. Eldridge ’10 will receive the Ken Joyce Excellence in Teaching Award at the law school’s commencement on May 17. Eldridge is an assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of New York and an adjunct faculty member at the School of Law.

Lawrence W. Gallick ’12 has been promoted to partner with Morrison Foerster in the Austin, Texas office. Gallick is a member of the technology transactions group.

Hatton ’21 has accepted a position as a patent litigation associate in the intellectual property department with Flaster Greenberg P.C., in the New York City office, currently litigating high-stakes patent disputes involving AI and other hard technology. He was previously a patent litigation associate with Daignault Iyer LLP in Vienna, Va.
Enoch Kun ’22 has co-authored the law review article State Power in Physician Immigration Law, published as the lead article in the Quinnipiac Health Law Journal. Kun is a senior attorney with the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General in Albany, NY.
