A message from the dean of our law school.
As we approach our 140th anniversary, we reflect on the blueprints that have shaped UB School of Law. Every blueprint begins with a foundation, and at the State of New York’s law school, that foundation has always been community. Since 1887—when members of the local bench and bar came together to establish a law school rooted in partnership—our mission has been guided by a commitment to the profession and the public good.
That spirit continues to define us. Educating the lawyers of tomorrow remains a collective effort, led by our outstanding faculty and dedicated staff, and strengthened by the members of the legal community who mentor, coach, teach and hire our students. From innovative faculty research that informs policy and practice to the outstanding experiential opportunities that prepare our students for success, these collaborations are the cornerstone of our living history and the way we welcome each new generation of attorneys into the profession.
I invite you to explore our website to learn more about the impact and reach of our community. Together, we continue to shape a future defined by purpose and possibility.
