Admitted Student Mentor Program

January 15 to May 15

Connect with your Admitted Student Mentor.

The Admitted Student Mentor Program is a new program launched in Spring 2021.  It is designed to pair admitted students with a current law student they can turn to when they have questions.  This means you have a personal resource for questions you may have about what it’s like here at UB, what law school entails, and what you need to do in order to make UB your new home.

Q: I’m an admitted student. How will I know who my mentor is?

A: If you’ve been recently admitted, you will receive an email from your Admitted Student Mentor within five days of being accepted to the School of Law.  Our group of mentors is comprised of 8 current 2L and 3L students that are eager to connect with you and help you in any way they can.

Q: How can I communicate with my mentor?

A: Admitted Student Mentors have designated email accounts for communicating with their group of mentees.  In the first email you receive from your mentor you will also be invited to a closed social media group to communicate with admitted students. Mentors will also provide GroupMe details and they are available for individual virtual meetings upon request.

Q: How long does the program run?

A: Admitted Student Mentors participate in the program from January 15 to May 15. During that time they are available for any questions you may have.  Check your email regularly for communications from your Admitted Student Mentor.  After that date, you can reach out to our Office of Admissions with any lingering questions.
