Law school will be one of the most rewarding experiences in your educational journey and is the stepping stone to a meaningful career. But even at the best of times, law school can be demanding and stressful. When you add in unplanned personal events, family issues, and a global pandemic, law school can be an emotional roller coaster.

What comes after law school graduation? You’ve gone to the classes, made friends and future colleagues, participated in student groups and organizations, completed final exams and then finally passed the bar. Your law career is about to begin, but where will you go? You could work at a large firm, start a private practice, give back at a not for profit, serve as in-house counsel for a corporation…the options are seemingly endless.

The Civil Rights Movement is well known throughout not only the United States, but the world at large. Figures like Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Fannie Lou Hamer—these names are synonymous with the movement of the 50s and 60s. So, why isn’t Juneteenth as widely known?

The LGBTQ community and its progressive allies have been fighting for equality, equity and justice for more than 50 years. Ever since the confrontation between police and gay patrons of the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village in 1969, the Pride movement of LGBTQ people to demand fair treatment in society has grown bit by bit to become a global campaign across countries, cultures and creeds.
