Biography:
Sam Magavern's classes focus on the policy aspects of affordable housing and community economic development and offer students experience in action-oriented research and policy advocacy. Magavern currently serves as co-director of the Partnership for the Public Good, a Buffalo think tank. Before moving back to Buffalo, he practiced for twelve years with the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis, specializing in housing litigation, community legal education, and public policy advocacy. When not teaching, he writes fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. His book, Primo Levi's Universe, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2009. His web site is www.sammagavern.com.
