Diplomas

Diplomas are mailed approximately six (6) weeks after the conferral of your degree and contain the student’s name, academic plan, degree type (J.D., LL.M., etc.), conferral date, name of the university (State University of New York at Buffalo) and the current diploma design. UB diplomas are printed by a nationally prominent firm on high-quality paper with an engraved UB seal.

Please Note:

Diplomas contain your name as it appears on your student record. Additions of accent marks or upper and lower case letters must be made before your conferral date.  Contact Records and Registration for any corrections.

  • The academic plan title that will be used is the State Education Department approved plan title only.
  • Diplomas are mailed only to the permanent address listed on your student record via the United States Postal Service, and do not contain tracking information.
  • The diploma is 9.75" X 12.5"
  • Diplomas are not mailed if you have an outstanding financial obligation to the University. If you clear the financial obligation, you must notify the Office of the University Registrar 716-645-5896.
  • Diplomas are held for one year after the conferral date. After that time you will need to order a replacement diploma.

Replacement Diplomas

You may request a replacement diploma through the University Office of the Registrar.  A $50.00 replacement fee will be charged (in U.S. funds only).
