Hon. Dennis C. Vacco '78 Summer Fellowship

Organization: Erie County District Attorney's Office and the Eighth Judicial District

How would you describe your experience?

My experiences this summer were incredibly valuable. My internships allowed me the opportunity to observe how the court system functions on both the criminal and civil sides, and the interplay between litigating and the behind-the-scenes of judicial decision-making.

What impacted you the most?

My experiences enhanced my knowledge and understanding of the complexity of our court system and its relevance in our society that I was not privy to before my exposure to the practical field. However, the most rewarding aspect of my internship were the various opportunities to meet practicing Buffalo attorneys with valuable expertise and wisdom to learn from. These attorneys were role models for what an attorney should be and the values they should encompass.

What would you like to share with our donors?

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Hon. Dennis C. Vacco for this Fellowship. All my experiences, the knowledge I gained, and the personal and professional growth I underwent, were made possible thanks to this fellowship. I appreciate the generosity of the Buffalo legal community, and will be sure to pay it forward.
