Information for Registered Applicants

Thank you for registering for the first Annual Public Defenders Career Fair on October 19, 2018, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the Center for Tomorrow, University at Buffalo.

We are looking forward to hosting you and connecting you with employers.

Time: The Public Defenders Career Fair will be open to applicants from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Career Fair Space: The career fair will be set up in a large conference space in “table talk” format, with candidates circulating freely among the tables.  Interactions with candidates will take place at each individual employer’s table.  We will have “interview in progress” signs available to discourage interruptions if an employer decides to interview you on the spot.

Semi-private Conversation Space: There will be a conference room available adjacent to the career fair space that will be able to accommodate up to 5 small groups at a time for impromptu conversations.  Employers will be able to step into that space as need be for a bit more privacy with a potential candidate.

Employer Information Released in Advance: The Career Fair web page will be updated weekly with an updated list of participating employers.  Check back often for an up-to-date list.

Applicant Information: All participating employers will receive a list of all applicants, including links to their resumes 10 days before the event with an update a few days before the event.  This event does not arrange scheduled interviews in advance, but employers may choose to reach out to candidates to encourage them to visit their tables during the event.

Location: The Center for Tomorrow is easily accessible on the edge of the University at Buffalo’s campus, with a dedicated parking lot and convenient loading area right at the front door.  For driving directions, access a Google map.

Lodging: Should you wish to stay overnight, we have reserved hotel blocks at a discounted rate at three hotels across the street from the event for the nights of October 18 and/or October 19.  View detailed reservation information.
