Make way for the Justice Bus! Soon this new initiative will be rolling into neighborhoods and rural areas to provide on-the-spot legal help to poor and disabled people in Western New York.
The D.C. Chapter of the UB Law Alumni Association is one of our strongest, with alumni that are helpful and supportive to the law school and to law students. That loyalty powers the work of the alumni chapter, which develops opportunities for alums to network with each other and supports the work of the law school’s career services office.
The Pro Bono Scholars Program allows students in their final year of law school to devote their last semester of study to performing pro bono service through a legal services provider or law school clinic. While it’s a lot of work, it affords both the satisfaction of providing legal help where it’s sorely needed, and gives Scholars a head start on their post-law-school career.
Even as she continues teaching courses in the school’s Legal Analysis, Writing and Research sequence, Tolu Odunsi has been named an assistant dean focusing on deepening the diversity of the law school community.
Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the Supreme Court of the United States will visit Buffalo on August 26. SUNY Chancellor to present Justice Ginsburg with Honorary Doctoral Degree in Law at UB ceremony.
